‘I think anything is possible if you have the mindset, the will, the desire to do it and put the time in.’ – Roger Clemens
Fun Facts
Kathy has travelled around Australia with her family and loves being immersed in the bush, be it camping or hiking in it. Her husband and two girls enjoy exploring new and interesting places, often finding themselves going on day and weekend trips to different places to see and do new things. Ayers Rock and its surrounds in Central Australia would have to be one place that left an indelible mark on her. There is nowhere else in the world like it. To absorb the natural rugged beauty of the red plains and dessert oaks, as well as taking in some of the stories of those who lived there was truly humbling.
Happy Places
When she’s not exploring the great outdoors, Kathy loves reading, spending time with family and dabbling in acrylic art-pouring.
Passions
One of Kathy’s top strengths is being a learner, so seeing, doing and learning new things excite her – be it ancient history, new art techniques or devouring new books. She’s currently learning German as an ode to her German heritage. Seeing her family and friends happy and watching movies that are based on true stories, action, comedy or documentaries also give her joy.
If Kathy could be a tree or plant, what would she be and why?
The Eucalyptus gum tree – particularly the flowering type such as the Silver Princess gum tree because of its stunning pendulous red flowers that dangle between the drooping foliage. These trees produce eucalyptus essential oil, which contains remarkable antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. This makes it a wonderful tool for our health and wellbeing, as well as for cleaning and freshening up around the home. It has an aromatic scent which reminds Kathy of the bush. She always experiences a sense of calmness when she’s surrounded by them. She also loves the native wildlife that call these trees home.
